Chapter 1: The beginning

This blog is about Alina and Hans' story together.

We first met in the Fall of 2006 in Romania. I was on a missions trip for Children to Love International and Alina was on staff as a counselor. At the time, I wasn't interested in a relationship, but Alina caught my eye. We didn't see or hear from each other after I returned to America, however, her picture sparked my interest.

Then we reconnected in Bakersfield when she came on vacation in December 2006. There was a party with my missions team and other Romanian staff. I was drawn to the party when I found out Alina was going to be there. We got to talk and share pictures. I wanted to ask her to coffee, but I didn't have the... guts. However, I did get her e-mail address-- which was the end of the first chapter and the beginning of the next...
